NIXON QUARTER HORSES
Nixon Quarter Horses is located near Amistad in Northeastern New Mexico. Our family has been raising horses and cattle and kids here since the 1940’s.
We are currently running a cow-calf and stocker operation so our horses get to perform many tasks from gathering and branding calves to doctoring yearlings outside.
Our goal in our program is to raise horses that are durable enough to stay sound as a ranch horse for many years. We like them to have lots of cow sense and willing, gentle minds, while having enough speed to catch anything that might need caught and athletic enough to get the sorting done. These horses are not only ranch horses but excel in the Ranch and Cow Horse competitions, Rodeo events from the speed events to timed events as well as Team Roping.
